Ronnie Coleman Vs Jay Cutler Backstage BEEF!
All sports have great rivalries. The world of professional bodybuilding is no exception. It’s hard to believe over 12-years since one of the greatest showdowns in recent history, the 2004 Mr. Olympia battle between IFBB Pros Ronnie Coleman and Jay Cutler. Of course, there were 19 other competitors there that night, but you wouldn’t have guessed it by the way the show was hyped and all the backstage coverage that weekend.
In some video taken backstage before the evening round of judging the two greats were interviewed by WWE superstar Triple H, and IFBB Pro Kevin Levone.
Jay tells Triple H, “A lot of people say he’s unbeatable, but I just don’t buy it. Everyone is beatable on a certain day, and I’m going to win this Olympia one day if I don’t win today.”
Triple H added fuel to the fire when he told Ronnie what Jay had said about him being beatable. Ronnie countered “I saw Jay Cutler is smoking crack. He isn’t in his right mind,” eliciting laughter from the crowd eagerly watching on screen.
To keep things interesting they brought out fellow IFBB Pros Dexter Jackson, and Gunter Schlierkamp to get their personal take on the events of that weekend.
Dexter spoke very nicely about the way the event had been ran and just wished everyone good luck.
Gunter, however was not as happy-go-lucky. Prior to the show Schlierkamp had been very vocal about the decision by the producers of the show to place only Cutler and Coleman on the poster that year. He didn’t back down from his statement telling Triple H, “If you just look at the poster the stage would be pretty empty tonight. There are 19 more guys and I hope next year the put everyone on who is competing on the poster.” He criticized the decision to only have two competitors saying, “I just think is should be fair, it’s not a boxing competition.”
